Initially began a greenfield remake of and existing, proprietary, email archiving system. Introduced new technologies using Angular V7 with vanilla Javascript and Bootstrap V4. The new back end Web API was recreated in .NET Core v2.1 and integrated with the existing API providing a new security layer that was needed.I then began support work of a Legacy ASP.NET system that was in the process of being replaced. General duties include fixing bugs, updating existing code to be more efficient, adding new functionality such as new ability to add photos of receipts to specific expense claims and adding a new emailing system using customisable templates to, initially, automate sending invoices to clients.

I had two projects during my time with RTS.Project one was converting existing C# .Net MVC 3 & 4.5 solution to newer Dot NET Core 2.1.300 and making changes to the existing .Net MVC 4.5 project, adding new content and functionality, updating reports and updating the front end using AngularJS 1.7.2Project two was working as part of a growing development team on a suite of web applications previously converted from MVC.Net 3.5 to .Net Core 2.1.0.400. Initially I was the sole Front end Developer using Vue.js on a per page basis and integrating it with existing JQuery functionality.

Worked as the sole front end developer in a team of CRM Dynamics Developers, Tester and Product Owners for their CRM Dynamics Web Interface.Primarily using C# MVC, SQL 2012 and various other technologies to maintain and enhance the system which is used by third parties to apply for data packs from the NHS.Liaised with BA’s, CRM Developers, Testers and Product Owners in a Scrum environment to maintain work loads, priorities and get or give help for blocking items.

I was part of a small team working on a greenfield project to be integrated with the company’s main housing system. The project was to allow tenants to view and manage their own accounts which are part of larger landlord accounts in the main system.The technology used for the front end was AngularJS but using Typescript to make transitioning to Angular 2 go a smooth as possible once it was released. The back end was the familiar ASP.NET C# supported by MSSQL Databases and various Web Api's to interface with the primary housing system.I worked directly with the project manager to manage sprint tasks and achieve sprint goals.Daily tasks were major development of new front and back end systems, bug fixes and database development, optimisation and refactoring.

I was the Lead Developer on a new development team tasked with a greenfield .NET Core project to redevelop the companies primary customer facing retail web site.Brought in long before development was ready to begin I was part of planning and strategy meetings with both product owners and stakeholders.I was responsible for setting the Development framework to be used going forward and helping the Test team develop their testing methods to work best all round.For development it was decided to build on the .Net Core framework using Entity Framework Core for the back end, supported by the companies existing and extensive SQL databases and creating new databases as needed for the new system.TFS was used for version control and task management with a view to move to DevOps once it had been evaluated.

Worked as part of a team responsible for maintaining the powerful engine that powers the insurance comparison industry for the likes of GoCompare.com, CompareTheMarket.com and many more.Daily tasks include bug fixes and new additions to both the newer portions of the system and the legacy code (.NET 2.0)

My Initial project was to create a web service for multiple desktop and web applications to interact with. The purpose of this web service is to take data provided by legacy applications and use a 3rd party DLL to convert it to a new format, then encode the results and return in an XML format.I completed the web service using WCF three weeks ahead of schedule.I was then tasked with modifying and testing various VB6 desktop and web applications to use the new web service.I spent the remaining time mentoring and training full time staff in the use and advantages of .NET over VB6.

This was my second time contracting with Unipart Rail.This time I was the sole developer for a greenfield ASP.NET MVC 4 intranet web application. The purpose of the new application was to analyse and forecast the company’s stock level requirements and predict the number of parts that will be required by the service department when a "bogie" arrives for servicing. A "bogie" is the the main mechanical part of a train carriage after all non essential parts are removed.I integrated the system to use windows authentication and AD roles to allow users access.I designed and built everything from a new MSSQL Database, including stored procedures to pull data from the SAP ERP system to the front end which made heavy use of jQuery, javascript and Bootstrap v3 to supply a smooth UX which used Ajax to prevent page reloads.

- Working on trapeze’s bespoke system, TrainPlan, for one of their European clients in Switzerland.- Adding new functionality to a recently ported VB6 to VB.net adaption of the application. Introducing the power of dot net into the existing 16 year old software interfacing to an Oracle database

I Worked with one of BJSS’s biggest clients, a global commodities trading company, on their bespoke oil trading system.Primary day to day tasks included:- Refactoring and optimising of many key SQL stored procedures, functions and triggers to improve speed and efficiency of queries and reduce processing cost on the SQL servers while maintaining the same output.- Refactoring and updating existing VB6, VB.NET and C# windows applications to improve applications responsiveness, add new features and remove redundant features.- Testing of bespoke software on Windows Server 2012 system.- Promoting new revisions through full testing life-cycle.

Worked as part of a two person team to integrate the external facing web services with their SAP database system whilst also performing essential support and maintenance.Integrated both systems using ERP Connect for Visual Studio 2010, requiring utilisation of SAP BAPI’s and direct table queries.

Delivery of new virtualised RDS systems including telephony integration, to support SGE Loans growth from 30 at launch to 150+Numerous enhancements to SGE Gas & Electric public websites and internal CRM, including full rebranding, performance improvements and upgrades.Introduction of project management methodologies into SGE, with Heads of Department able to use the system to track and approve systems changes and fixes.

Performed a detailed systems analysis and recommended key areas in need of improvement.Implemented an upgrade of the companies primary system used to send mass email marketing.
