My most recent role with Leftbrain gives me the opportunity to collaborate with Apple in the facilitation of all aspects of educational and sales events ranging from small 50-person events, to large weekly events with hundreds of daily attendees. Practically speaking, this entails applying well-practiced project management methodologies to ensure that the infrastructure to support each events is clearly defined, costed and in place. Responsibility lies with me for ensuring the contracting specification is suitable for Network, AV, and on-site device content image requirements are clear, as does collaborating with departments at Apple to plan for content and ensuring that Apple’s budget for technical resources are kept within expectations.

As Support Engineer with Leftbrain, I provided remote and on-site IT support to both small business clients and large enterprise clients based in Dublin and London. I was able to offer technical guidance to clients, and I project-managed requests for technology upgrades. I very much enjoyed the business development element of the role, through engaging with potential new clients to generate new business, and serving as account manager and acting as primary point of contact in relation to clients’ support provision, both country-wide and across Europe.

My focus in this role was the provision of second-line technical and infrastructure support to 40 business users. In practical terms, this encompassed supporting resolution of user incidents, overseeing rollout, installation and maintenance of desktops, laptops and network hardware, as well as managing active directory and exchange. I particularly relished the opportunity to lead completion of a range of end-to-end projects from concept to sign-off.

This role centered on overseeing a team of seven staff providing onsite desktop support for clients including Google, Facebook, Airbnb, LinkedIn, DropBox and Fitbit, as well as conducting hardware diagnosis and repair for desktop and laptop assets including MAC, Dell, Lenovo and HP. A further component of the role was managing the issue and receipt of asset deliveries and replacement hardware parts.
