I managed the requirement development and documentation phases for multiple technology projects. The experience of taking user requirements and putting them into technical specifications while thinking about the implications to other systems helped develop a set of skills I rely on daily - linking business goals/objectives to technical requirements. As a Program Manager and Chief Engineer on a number of technology projects, I established a good foundation in program management practices as well as developed a client/customer management toolkit to rely on throughout my career.
