Sang-Won (Benedict, ‘Ben’) Park is the Senior Manager of Asia Business Development at JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development corporation. Since joining JobsOhio in November 2022, he has led the attraction efforts of investments from Asia, mainly Korea, Japan, Taiwan, India, and China.Ben built a two-decade career focused on automotive with roles in R&D, finance, business development, and government. During his six years in finance, Ben was promoted to director of equity research for Korean securities firms, analyzing the Korean automotive industry and helping institutional investors and corporations with their investment decisions. This experience continues to help him with his attraction efforts in various sectors. His economic development career began in his previous occupation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MoEF), Republic of Korea, in 2019. He joined the ministry as the deputy director responsible for the ministry's policies on future mobility. He also published the first white paper from the ministry on the state of automotive policies in the U.S., E.U., and China. On the other hand, his secondary role was reshoring Korean companies to relocate their manufacturing bases to Korea, which is the economic development role he continues with JobsOhio. Despite his Korean background, Ben profoundly understands and appreciates diverse cultures, having grown up in Germany, Australia, and the U.S. throughout his life. He had German classmates in kindergarten, Australian classmates during elementary school, and American classmates in college. This unique experience helps him greatly with connecting with clients of various cultures and nationalities. Ben also received advanced degrees from the U.S.: he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from Cornell University.
