The Internet

After more than two years as a part-time employee of FanGraphs, I became a full-time employee in April 2013. I have writing, editing and management responsibilities at FanGraphs, and am also the managing editor of The Hardball Times. At THT, we publish one long piece each day (~2,000) of meticulously researched baseball content, be it commentary, research, history, humor, etc.At FanGraphs, I manage a group of people who run the site's depth charts, as well as two-three interns who run our contracts database and a social media staff member. I also head up or participate in special projects like ordering new t-shirts, organizing meet-ups and our annual company trip. At The Hardball Times, I manage an editing staff of five, as well as dozens of freelance writers. For FanGraphs, I write twice a week, and host a weekly chat there as well. I have also written for ESPN MLB Insider and Fox Sports under FanGraphs' banner. I have spearheaded and/or managed book projects for the company, and in 2016 I edited and typeset my sixth book for The Hardball Times. I was the managing editor of four of them. On January 27, 2014, we launched a re-design of THT's website, and I played a chief role in the undertaking and execution of that project, which fused together several writers from FanGraphs and THT. I also was central to the development of TechGraphs, a now shuttered sports technology blog that was part of the FanGraphs family.I was one of five editors for the 2013 and 2014 editions of "The Hardball Times Baseball Annual," a 300-page book that is released in traditional and e-book (Kindle) formats. I became the managing editor and was directly responsible for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions. Also in 2014, I edited and typeset the baseball novel, "When The Sparrow Sings."
