Santiago grew up in Ecuador, where he learned to explore nature’s amazing diversity, as well as the challenges around farming and food access. These experiences inspired him to pursue science to positively impact the intersection of agriculture and nature. “Replace fear of the unknown with curiosity “ is his motto. Ex-gymnast that represented Ecuador at international venues such as the world championships in France (‘93).With 20+ years in applied research, Santiago is an experienced Science Leader with a demonstrated history of working in the Agriculture industry. Skilled in People Management, Project Management, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Small Molecules and Cell Biology. He is driven by curiosity and the desire to help shape the future of agriculture. Strong product development technology professional graduated from Western Michigan University. Long history of engaging in inclusion, diversity, equity and access as a leader.
