The PMC plays a pivotal role for Actes Environmental. The position reports to the partners, assists the Project Managers and coordinates with the Site Superintendents, WorkSafeBC and various consultants (hazardous materials, insurance, occupational health & safety). It requires the ability to handle multiple tasks while focusing on documents that have legal consequences if not managed properly such as construction contracts and clearance letters. Also required is effective communication with clients and vendors as well as the Ministry of Environment to ensure smooth operations on and off job sites and adherence to government guidelines.

A family owned company, I was asked to join the firm to temporarily replace the former Administrator while she was on leave. The position was responsible for completing all tasks outside of architecture or interior design. It was a position that required solutions to a myriad of tasks as it was the only administrative position within a staff of 30. The firm was closed when sold to another company due to the sudden passing of the owner.

I provided network consulting services to the end user community linked to PLNet (the Provincial Learning Network - Ministry of Education). I also collaborated with the project partners to create successful WAN solutions and worked closely with the PLNet Help Desk / Operations Centre to ensure timely resolution to network issues. My responsibilities also included creating detailed reports which documented roles and responsibilities, process and procedure, network statistics and future requirements. This job was the same as my position with SHL Systemhouse but SHL was now known as EDS Canada.

I held a vital position in the carrier sales team which consisted of sales executives, engineers and implementation groups. After contract signature, I coordinated all events in order to implement the client's network on time and on budget with minimal impact on the client's engineers. These were large, coordinated network solutions and successful onboarding required someone who paid attention to details and was able to communicate clearly both internally and externally.As the CSM was responsible for customer satisfaction, I delivered various reports to decision makers to ensure constant communication with the client. I was responsible for building long-term customer relationships to ensure growth in account revenue during the contract term and a positive contract renegotiation. Delivery of a Service Level Agreement (SLA) presentation was required quarterly on the customer’s premises. I thrived in this environment as I am an excellent communicator and someone who enjoys working on the front lines with an energized group of colleagues.After 3 ½ years working as a CSM, I was chosen to mentor a team of six CSMs focused on building long term customer partnerships and growing account revenue. The position was eliminated when XO decided to pull all management into headquarters in Reston, VA.

SHL was awarded a contract by the Ministries of Education and Advanced Education to provide consulting services to the school districts and post-secondary institutions across British Columbia regarding a province-wide proprietary network.I developed and managed multi-level, strategic business relationships with schools and colleges while representing the Ministries on what was to be known as the Provincial Learning Network (PLNet). I documented the roles and responsibilities of each network partner, process and procedure, network statistics and future requirements in order to increase end user knowledge of the project and its future applications. I also presented detailed documents to the Ministries regarding their end user community in order that they and SPAN BC (network operations) could upgrade the network as needed and as funding allowed. I was instrumental in improving end user satisfaction ratings by listening, suggesting new network solutions, obtaining funding and negotiating improved installation time frames. This was very important to the Ministries as they wanted to prove the project’s value to all concerned.I left the project when approached by a recruiting firm to work in the Silicon Valley. I was re-hired immediately upon my return 4 years later by the Project Manager.

I was compensated via salary and bonus dependent upon % of quota obtained. I interfaced with customers to identify needs, field questions and facilitate IT solutions using voice, data and Internet applications. Managed complex business relationships with Stentor Canada, AT&T Canada LD Services and other AT&T Business Units in order to develop optimal business results for North American clients, I learned that I enjoyed developing and maintaining customer relationships far more than hard core sales hence the move into consulting with SHL Systemhouse.
