Junior Engineer playing a key role on multiple underground construction projects at a uranium mine ensuring initialization of Jet Boring mining operations utilizing NATM tunneling methodology. These projects include Run of Mine Area (Underground Mill), Underground Sump Systems (Mine Dewatering System), Underground Shops/Bays, Recycle Water Tank, 5KV Cable installation in shaft, Outfitting for Tunnels and assistance in various other construction projectsResponsible for procurement, contract administration, project management/ engineering, coordination/technical field assistance of day to day operations, estimating, material coordination, scheduling (Building/implementing FIWPs), QA/QC, performance report writing, document control management, writing/managing RFIs related to concrete, structural steel, mechanical, geotechnical, piping, electrical and instrumentation applications. Fourth coop work term with the Bitumen Production Tailings department at the Horizon Oil Sand Project. The project consists of open pit mining operations currently producing 110,000 BPD of SCO. Researched and designed geotechnical options for long term tailings embankment optimization to increase the long term life of tailings pond utilizing Minesight and Muck 3D to meet compliance with Directive 074. Incorporation of heavy earthworks design and rough cost estimation of Berms, Dikes, & Dams. Additionally developed status maps for short-mid range planning. Fourth year Mining project based on this research inclusive of review of slope stability analysis, seepage analysis, assessment of geotechnical parameters, and review of technology applicable in dealing with fine tailings.Training received inclusive of CSTS, OSSA Regional Orientation, OSSA Safe Work Permit, OSSA Confined Space Entry/Monitor, Radiation Awareness, NORM, Nitrogen Awareness, H2S Awareness, Noise Awareness, Plant LOTO, Heavy Hauler Awareness, Fire Extinguisher, D&A awareness, Silica Awareness, WHMIS, MOC, Six Sigma, Environmental Management CBT, etc.

Summer coop for a junior exploration company collecting geological data utilizing the ICP Soil Sampling methodology, conducting field assessments, rock/soil classification and claim staking. Work consisted of carrying heavy packs uphill, encountering bears and other wildlife, traversing steep terrain, safe use of chainsaws, safe utilization of tools such as axes and machetes, daily work with helicopters (often in unprepared landing sites), and being comfortable working alone in an isolated wilderness setting.Training received inclusive of Wilderness First Aid, Helicopter Safety, Chainsaw Training, Technical Tree Falling & Cutting Training, and other various trainings related to working in a wilderness environment.

Completed two coop terms with a mining construction company focused on shaft sinking at the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan’s Scissors Creek site. Responsibilities included drafting, design, and technical assistance in aspects related to construction, electrical, mechanical, shaft mining, geotechnical, transportation & structural steel engineering aspects of the project as well as received training in the procurement, project control, and quality control processes and applications.Assistance in Design of Surface buildings including batch plant and steel tubbing preparation building, building work procedure specifications, review of soil stability. Conducted field work inclusive of field assessments, field measurements, physical assistance of surface construction. Data evaluation/graphical representation/interpretation of ground freezing applications in shaft.Trained in drafting engineering reports such as specifications, non-conformity reports, methodology reports, scopes, memos, etc. Also received training for First Aid, Fall Arrest, Crosby Rigging & Underground Orientation.
