My name is Sydney Masur and I am a student athlete at Indiana University studying finance in the Kelley School of Business. I am a part of the IU Women’s Soccer team and have served as captain since my sophomore year. Growing up as an athlete I was able to develop key attributes like time management, teamwork, and leadership. By utilizing my soccer experience as well as volunteering, sitting on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and working in my community as a coach, I have been able to improve and expand my skillset. These positions have taught me how to accomplish goals on an individual and team scale. Throughout life, competitive soccer has led me to create long-lasting relationships with teammates and coaches by overcoming adversity and prioritizing success. Soccer has instilled a strong work ethic and determination in my personality which has been influential in my academic and athletic careers. Looking forward, I plan to use my experiences in soccer and other positions to apply myself in a professional setting. I hope to pursue a career path in the financial world to continue to grow my leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
