I have spent the past five years working in the local government and non-profit sector. Specifically, I have focused my attention on programs aimed to support and educate youth as well as organizations working in the field of mediation and conflict resolution. With my M.A. in Negotiation, Conflict Resolution & Peacebuilding I have been increasingly interested in contributing to the development of restorative practices, conflict resolution training for youth, and increasing access to mediations for populations most in need. I have a unique and personalized “why” behind the work that I do. First, I believe that the more adults that genuinely care about the growth and development of our youth will result in a healthier population and better functioning society. Second, we all face conflicts everyday throughout our entire lives. Learning the skills and tools that can help us be more equipped to handle these encounters, will allow moments of conflict to become opportunities for personal and relationship growth rather than moments to avoid. Conflict resolution and communication skills can liberate us from the fear of disagreement.
