Sydney creates and leads power yoga classes at the Wake Forest University Gym for students. Her classes are designed to empower participants to unlock their inner strength and focus, while safely practicing and exercising. Sydney also led a University sponsored event for a glow in the dark, rhythm based yoga class with more than 50 participants and a sunrise yoga event.

Sydney assisted in Dr. Eranda Jayawickreme's Lab in the Psychology Department at Wake Forest University. Sydney's contributions focused on post traumatic growth, including basic levels of data analysis. She used SPSS to run data analysis and continues to correspond with graduate students in the lab for ongoing projects with the data.Most recently, an article, in which Sydney assisted with data analysis and is listed as a co-author, was submitted to a journal for consideration.

By the end of Sydney's personal career, she had been ranked as a top 5 debater at more than 10 tournaments on state and national levels. Sydney served as the Assistant Congress Coach for the Millburn Speech and Debate's Congress Team. She wrote lesson plans, ran meetings, assisted students with preparation for tournaments, and mentored students through their congressional debate career. Two of Sydney's students at Millburn qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association's Tournament, a prestigious tournament which only 2% of NSDA members students qualify for during their debate careers.

Sydney worked as an undergraduate researcher at the WELL Lab at Loyola University in Chicago with Dr. Rebecca Silton. Over the course of the summer, Sydney taught herself basic techniques in the computer programming language R and headed data wrangling for a dataset. She imported and organized the dataset and began to compute key variables for the data.
