My name is Sydney Teitelbaum, and I am a multimedia journalism student who hopes to merge my love of upholding the law with my love of writing through a journalism career. I worked at Spinnaker Media—the University of North Florida’s student paper as their police reporter and interned at Jacksonville Magazine during the 2024 summer. Although I was new to the job at Spinnaker, I was able to create relationships with the officers on campus. I wrote stories relevant to the students of UNF and other citizens of Jacksonville, Florida that highlighted crimes on campus and crimes in the city of Jacksonville. Through my experience interning at Jacksonville Magazine, I was allowed to write about specific events in Jacksonville, was able to reach out and connect with numerous professionals in the city, and was able to challenge myself as a writer and individual. I also have experience interning at the State Attorney’s Office of Jacksonville when I was 17 years old. There, I kept detailed notes of jail calls, and organized files, among other tasks that were required of me. I am a very organized hard worker who has developed an eye for detail and can search out a worthy story when I hear one. I am dedicated to my studies, and pride myself on my work ethic and on the importance that staying updated with what is going on around you, in your neighborhood or community, has.
