- Promoted sustainability within Detroit Public Schools and Ypsilanti Community Schools to reduce utility costs, environmental impact, and foster student learning. - Developed sustainability curriculum that was community-specific and promoted local climate resiliency through NOAA and NSF grants.- Collaborated with community partners to design and execute community sustainability projects, which included topics such as renewable energy, urban drainage and flood control, and energy conservation.- In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, helped develop personalized home energy and water efficiency kits for Detroiters to save money on their utilities while reducing impact on the environment. Additionally, led a group of students in the first ever virtual summer program, where I co-developed a curriculum on the connections between climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic in Detroit, and facilitated students on developing an online resource hub on this topic. - Additional roles: ~ Detroit Public Schools Utility Tracking: Analyzed DPS utility data and formed recommendations for financial and energy savings. ~ Member of the Green Building Committee: Assisted the transition of EcoWorks to net-zero emissions.
