Within the Neighborhood Safety Department (NSD), facilitate the City of Minneapolis’s contract management of the Behavioral Crisis Response (BCR) program, an alternative response program offering culturally affirming unarmed first responder services to people in crisis via 911.

Managed Iowa Businesses Against Trafficking (IBAT) statewide initiative; developed and implemented key procedures, including new member onboarding and database utilization; facilitated various strategic communications, marketing, and partnership opportunities that furthered coalition growth; increased awareness of human trafficking and provided support on initiative development nationwide. Synchronously administered statewide address confidentiality programs, Iowa Safe at Home (SAH) and Protect our Protectors (POP) single-handedly throughout departmental transitions from June 2022 to January 2023; oversaw all program services for 1,200+ participants, including duties for the 2022 midterm elections, and finalized this transition by training new Program Administrators for SAH and POP.

Liaised for new initiative, Iowa Businesses Against Trafficking (IBAT); raised awareness of human trafficking through strategic outreach and presentation opportunities accompanied with building relationships with key stakeholders across the state which grew IBAT coalition membership to 850+ businesses/350,000+ employees, and garnered support in 97 of Iowa’s 99 counties. Provided program services for Safe at Home (SAH) and Protect our Protectors (POP), including application processing, mail forwarding, and confidential voter registration and absentee voting to 1,200+ program participants.

Facilitated statewide coalition of 200+ victim and survivor volunteers through strategic communications and innovative involvement opportunities, including amplifying survivor voices, connecting survivor experiences to proposed bill, and raising awareness for the need of crime victims’ rights that progressed the organizations’ effort with constituents, stakeholders, and policy makers.Built strong relationships with victim services and advocacy organizations through marketing mutually beneficial partnerships. Utilized this support and endorsements to push effort forward with other stakeholders and key policy makers.

Elevated organizations’ effort by traveling to meet with key stakeholders, including law enforcement, county attorneys, elected officials, and constituents. Established a clearer understanding of the need for constitutional rights for victims’ of crime coupled with developed support from volunteers for impactful involvement during legislative sessions.

Instructed, mentored, and cultivated community for 30+ incoming psychology first-year students in Psychology 112 course.

Gained critical experience in 4 research lab settings assisting graduate students in their thesis and dissertation research focused on psychology and law, memory and education, and metacognition.

Facilitated a group of 15 incoming new students for welcome weekend, assisted in their transition to Iowa State and throughout their first semester.

Gained an understanding of the criminal justice system, with a concentration on sexual assault and domestic violence trainings, protocols, and resources.Attended trauma informed sessions and acquired a better understanding of how trauma impacts short and longterm aspects of life for victims and survivors of crime.
