I am currently in my 1st year of Sports and Event Marketing at Fanshawe College. This program will complement my undergraduate degree since I was in Kinesiology at Laurentian University. I am very interested in the world of sports and would love to remain involved in this industry as a career. At Laurentian, I was involved with the Human Kinetics community through multiple roles with the Kinesiology and Health Sciences Student Association. KHSSA is a student-run organization that facilitates educational conferences, fundraisers, and events for students. My first position in this association was Social Media Manager. I was responsible for posting all content that was required to reach students about upcoming events happening on campus. My next position was Secretary where I was responsible for keeping minutes on all the meetings. My last position on the association was Vice-President where I worked alongside the President for the majority of the school year. I was responsible for attending faculty meetings when needed, planning and running meetings, approving purchases and financials from the treasurer, and contacting Laurentian alumni to attend monthly conferences for Human Kinetic students. After graduating from Laurentian in 2022, I took some time to thoroughly think about what type of career I would enjoy. I traveled and was able to experience many different things this year that allowed me to curate my decision to attend Fanshawe for the Sports and Event Marketing program. This program will allow me to remain involved in the sports industry after graduation by being able to explore the business and marketing side of sports.
