The meaning of being a Resident Lifestyle Assistant for Independent Living is helping make our calendar and our Penline each month to provide our residence with new, fun, and exciting activities. I also help set up any activity that requires technology, I call the residences who are going on any outings that requires sign ups, I put up weekly flyers in our elevators so residence know what’s going on each week. I also help with putting our invoices in our system we use, and I go on some of our outings we have off-campus.

My time as an Activities Assistant for Assisted-Living I provided fun activities for seniors while also facilitating activities, I went and knocked on their door and reminded them about an activity that was coming up shortly, I also helped brainstorm and come up with fun and exciting activities each month for our calendar and for the resident to enjoy and to keep them busy.Sometimes I provide my own activity that they all enjoy, which is Putt Putt. I go on outings with assisted-living if they need an extra hand. It’s like I’m doing two jobs every once in a while because I enjoy my previous job as well as my current. My current job comes first more than anything.
