Development of High Resolution Visual Stimulation System:Designed a lens system that collimates projected stimulation videos while optimizing resolution, maximum light transmitted, and compactness of the stimulation system.Modified the projector GUI’s C++ source code to alter light linearity properties.Created a custom adjustable, removable mount for the visual stimulation system.Calibrated the projector to equalize photoisomerization rates induced by the green and UV LED.Mapping Functional S Cone Connectivity:Conduct ectrophysiology experiments on custom 512 electrode planar array.Dissected mouse eyes to produce healthy retinal tissue used for recordings.Processed data, classified types of retinal ganglion cells, and immunostained the retina.Wrote Matlab code to analyze the distribution of S cones within ganglion cells receptive fields.Matched the S cone distribution in S-opsin immunostains to the spatial functional UV sensitivity.Retinal Plasticity after Selective PhotocoagulationTook confocal images of immunofluorescent retinal tissue to measure changes in retinal structure.Examined dendritic structures of bipolar cells and location of glutamate receptors.Wrote Matlab code to analyze healing and plasticity of retinal tissue after photocoagulation (see publication)
