I was responsible for global and local sourcing, contract management, strategic development, and supply chain Operations for VEON (parent company of previous employer, Jazz Pakistan Mobile Communications Ltd.). I utilize outstanding industry knowledge and technical skills to provide extensive guidance for senior leaders while designing operating models and strategic road maps for streamlining, and managing the supply chain. My core contributions to date include:• Led a team of Global Category Managers on an international scale including operations in Netherlands (HQ), Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan and other Group Opco countries. • Conceptualized and delivered robust strategic plans across SCM, Travel & Fleet, and Real Estate categories. • Spearheaded the global vendor management and tendering process from HQ in Amsterdam including vendor evaluation in line with regulatory requirements, contract negotiation, FX risk mitigation, and dispute resolution. • Provided extensive advice and guidance for the SCM operations team as a subject matter expert in support of daily SCM challenges, working capital projects, 3PL tenders, and inventory management requirements.• Acted as business partner for internal teams to advise on category strategies and global/local sourcing initiatives.• Successfully implemented 3PL and the Global Travel Programme & System.• Indirect procurement champion for Source to Contract stream of Oracle Fusion Project.• Manage the Local and Global Vendor/Suppliers Day.

In this role, I directed 90+ FTE’s across Sourcing, Contracts, and SCM work streams including team leadership and training. I managed an annual budget of $400 M+ and inventory of $700M+. I reported to the CFO as an integral part of the Finance team supporting the Jazz transformation project. I liaised with C-suite members such as the CTO and CCO on critical matters. Some of my responsibilities and achievements included:• Led end-to-end sourcing and contract management for technology and all indirect domains.• Successfully integrated the SCM and Procurement organization after the merger of two telecommunications entities in Pakistan & developed robust procurement strategy in high level corporate objectives.• Successfully reduced inventory by 30% to free up working capital for deployment in other areas of the business.• Implemented a centralized procurement model and category management as part of the overall procurement transformation focused on leveraging strategic sourcing principles and achieving vendor management objectives.• Developed KPIs and SLAs to track performance and support the efficient execution of sourcing and SCM Activities.• Established a results-focused global shared services centre to optimize procurement operations using KPI’s.• Fostered collaborative relationships with Big Telecom global vendors to create long-lasting strategic partnerships. • Procurement & SCM Transformation in line with Global transformation project. • Successful implementation of the ERP project to implement Oracle-R 12 with multiple modules. • Formulating procurement strategy based on business requirements and devise plan based on the budget & annual consumption in terms of quantity & spent.

In this position, I collaborated with a variety of colleagues to overhaul procurement and supply chain management policies in line with international standards of best practice. I designed processes and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all SCM operations and used KPI’s and other metrics to track and evaluate performance. I led several key planning and governance work streams using a combination of strong technical knowledge and people management skills. I concurrently spearheaded the support services function focused on the numbers management, vouchers management, Imsi Management and Numbers and Sims planning. Also Headed the Warehousing & Logistics function to and smoothly run the operations. Some key achievements included:• Established an end-to-end vendor management function including performance evaluation, relationship management, and complaint handling workflows.• Successfully managed a warehouse facility with over 380k sq. ft. of technical, administrative, and trade inventories.• Orchestrated the successful consolidation of 19 warehouses into five across three cities leading to a 30% reduction in costs and 70% in HR requirements.• Implemented an innovative program to reduce the commercial buffer stock level from 90 days to 30 days.• Implemented an automated asset tracking system from warehouse to sites maintaining strict control over the movement and visibility of assets in a highly complex supply chain.• Ensured that commercial stock availability consistently met monthly targets without fail to facilitate the achievement of commercial sales targets.• Developed Procurement & Supply Chain process and procedures manual as a guideline to follow by all stake holders.• Handled the end to end Sourcing & contract management of Indirect categories.• Developed different reports for Procurement KPIs, Sox, category management Performance and supply chain KPIs.

I coordinated with the Commercial department to ensure smooth supply chain development for upcoming sales targets and promotions. I managed Sims, Scratch Cards, and Mobile Numbers inventory. Some key contributions included:• Developed new distribution model at franchisee doorstep to enable franchise holders to carry out special sales and boost profitability.• Designed the reporting deck for the management to show the different SCM aspects for better planning and results i.e. Market float, Inventory days, Vouchers activation status etc.
