This is a USA based multinational company. I worked in its India development center as a Project Manager and managed the Customization and Implementation of Order to Cash cycle modules and a few CRM modules (like Incentive Compensation) of Oracle e-Business suite. Managed the design, development and implementation of a custom-built data warehouse application “Roll Call Data Mart” as an addendum to the Oracle e-Business Suite 11i. Warehouse provides dynamic, self-service analysis tools for standard and custom reporting to the sales team. Created dashboards that deliver sales performance information in a clear, concise, intuitive and relative manner. Interactive reporting environment - allow end-users to easily filter, sort, drill, slice and dice data. Implemented an architectural and functional BI foundation that is fully scalable to expand and support future business requirements. This was a typical on-site / off shore IT projects implementation environment.

CLEAR: Citizen Law Enforcement Analysis and Reporting system, a 40 million dollars plus IT initiative for Chicago Police Department was implemented by Oracle Corporation. This application manages the entire policing business from the IT perspective. CLEAR is a collection of several tightly integrated, efficient sub systems such as Licensing Application, Personnel management system, Evidence Tracking System, Name Check Application, Child Abuse Investigations, Sex Offender Registrations, Fire Arms Registration, Warrants, Juvenile Warrants, Juvenile Arrest System, Case Reporting Application, Automated Fingerprinting Information System, Detective Case Reporting and Case Management, Arrest Reporting and Arrestee Management System. I worked with Oracle Consulting on this huge initiative and managed the design, development and implementation of several applications. I worked on this project from its inception and was involved in all the phases starting from client interviews, JAD sessions, requirement analysis, project planning, writing SOA and several project management related documents, estimation, defining architecture, process modeling, enterprise data modeling, physical database design, writing the technical documents, resource allocation and management, development, enhancement, change order management, scope management, testing, user acceptance, client signoffs and final implementation. Security and the chain of approvals were the key issues. Police department manages very sensitive pieces of information and this system was very well secured from all angles.CLEAR is shared by more than 140 policing agencies across the Illinois state. This system interfaces with several other law enforcement agencies both federal and with other partnering states. Exchange of information was handled very efficiently and in a much secure manner.Personally, I took the project out of the crisis several times by enhancing the performance of the entire application.

CCC information services in an Insurance Claims Processing company. ACT Re-architecture is the project of converting the current ACT system in MS SQL Server and Sybase into Oracle 8i. As part of conversion, 18 interfaces and 65 reports had to be re-written in Oracle. I managed the entire project; coordinated the efforts in development of both these projects and managed a group of 14 programmers. Interfaces were the most difficult part, as they have to communicate with the outside systems that belong to other insurance companies.

IRIS (Integrated Revenue Information System – Client Consultation): IRIS was developed for the City of Chicago, Dept. of Revenue. It has 5 sub-systems Licenses, Permits, Taxes, Investigations and Client Consultation.I managed the development and implementation of the Client Consultation System. This is the first and the biggest sub-system of the IRIS project that acts as gateway to all other sub-systems of IRIS. I collaborated with DBA team, other project teams, project sponsors, client project team, senior architects, business development team, and senior management for efficient implementation of the project.I conducted interviews, JAD sessions, designed the logical and the physical database, wrote the technical specifications, developed the most complex forms and reports of the system, wrote back-end PL/SQL stored packages, procedures and functions.I was responsible for completing the entire Technical Architecture work including the documents, templates for the project documentation works, templates for all the forms and reports developed, templates for all the back-end API’s written, developed all the front-end and back-end common objects for standardizing the project efforts. This reduced at least 30 hours of effort of each consultant per program. Time clock and Scheduling system: This system is used to keep track of employee’s time records, schedules, inter and intra departmental transfers etc. This is developed as a touch screen application. The functionality of the dual database protection in case of database and network failure has been implemented, as the system has to be online 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
