Helped build a solution to discourage spoofing and robocalling. This product leverages the standards-based guidance from the IETF STIR WG documents. The solution is agnostic to the infrastructure that it lives on. Built and tested in the AWS and OpenStack environment. Designed and developed the Data Distribution Service using AWS Products and Services to allow data publishers to share the datasets with disparate consumers looking to stay in sync with one or more datasets.Built a virtual appliance to help localize a clearing-house service to customer premise to offset the round-trip response time latency. This appliance relies on Data Distribution Service to discover the available datasets, discover the metadata associated with the various datasets, bootstrap the local data-store, and keep it synchronized with the remote master.Supported IP Interconnect and HD Voice related standardization efforts by actively engaging industry participants and conducting interoperability tests. Designed and implemented the test-bed that supports call termination via IP-Interconnect with PSTN (via ITSP) as a fallback route.Worked closely with a cross-functional team to transition to Agile Scrum Methodology. Participated in IETF as an author of the draft specifications in the RAI area to develop a provisioning protocol for session establishment of telephone route data into the data registry. As a NeuStar Labs member, I published technology research papers and presented the results at NeuStar’s internal technology summit. Designed and implemented a Self-Registration system to allow subscribers of a major telephone service provider to sign up for viewing media content on mobile devices by leveraging peering networks for streaming content and avoiding more costly wireless data service.Continued to support business and PMO teams as a technology SME. Lead a team of on-site and off-site software engineers to develop a suite of clearing-house services to aid in route discovery. Policy-based provisioning was used to render controlled access to available data sources while ensuring sub-millisecond response times in a high availability environment. Some of these services offered customers the ability to share interconnect route information to select peering partners.

Designed and developed a message routing service to aid in routing SMS/MMS and voice calls. Built the cross-platform DNS stack from scratch in C++ with the required functionality for supporting ENUM request/response messages. Used both open source and commercial protocol stacks to enable reliable SIP messaging.

Responsible for the design and development of call processing applications. As part of the Professional Services org, I taught courses on SwitchKit API used on top of the Class-4 EXS programmable switches.Worked as a team to develop Tandem Switching Application (TSA) that passed the Class 4 switching conformance tests for both SS7 ISUP and interworking specification (per ITU Specification Q.788. TSA was capable of interworking across standards-based protocols, such as CAS, SS7-ISUP, or ISDN-PRI. As a cross-platform application written in C++, the customers deployed it on various platforms, including SCO OpenServer, Sun Solaris, Windows NT, and Linux.Designed and developed an Alarm Interface Application that worked as a routing engine for an automated OAM&P switching application. The application helped ensure that the telephony switch's alarm notifications are routed to the GUI dashboard application and the hardware alarm panel. The application used a mix of UDP and TCP communication protocols to allow the Network Operation Center to monitor the telephony switches remotely and selectively monitor the switch resources.Independently designed and developed an IPDC simulator to test the IP Gateways. IPDC was an early experimental VoIP signaling protocol. Designed a Java front-end application to enable users to create and execute test cases quickly.

As a continuing engineering team member, I was responsible for diagnosing issues with the data communication protocols reported by the new and existing customers of the IVR solution. The middleware component supported a variety of data communication to query the data from downstream systems. Timely resolution of critical issues and helping implement custom feature requests was an important aspect of the job. The suite of data communication protocols supported by the IVR solution included Telnet VT-100, Telnet 3270, Telnet 5250, SNA, and TCP/IP sockets protocol interfaces.
