As a Staff Representative at United Steelworkers, I have the privilege of representing and advocating for the rights and interests of over 10,000 security guards in the Private Security Sector through USW Local 5296. In this role, I provide advice, support, and representation to members and unit executives, ensuring that the collective agreements, provincial legislation, policies, guidelines, and employment benefits plans are applied consistently and fairly.My goal as a Staff Representative is to negotiate and achieve fair wages, benefits, and better working conditions for our members. By working collaboratively with employers and other stakeholders, I believe that we can create positive change in the workplace that benefits everyone involved.
