NMS deployment Project Engineer responsible for all NMS servers for the BT21cn Network. Responsible for advising BT on capacity planning, installation and network management. Ensuring NMS is installed in sufficient time to manage new Network growth. Ensuring Secuirity is maintained against unauthorised access. Managements and creation of user accounts. the NMS server is built according to overall OSS strategy and within KPI and SLA. Responsible for making sure system is upgraded to latest supported OS platforms such as solaris 10 following agreed planned outages without loss of network visibility. the NMS send alarm to various BT OSS systems via corba and netcool to ensure Network is monitoered 24x7. Responsible for maintainece training for TAC personnel and within BT. Responsible for ensuring service contracts are in place with 3rd party suppliers. Responsible for pre-installation demonstrations prior to deployment in live network to ensure high confidence levels.initially hired as a TSE . Joined Directly from Nortel after competing the upgrading of the PDH network to SDH technologies. Set up a Network wide strategy for maintaining the new sdh network, including advising and recruritment of Maintenance personnel.
