Mfa Summer Research InternUniversity Of Toronto May 2021 - Aug 2021Toronto, Ontario, CanadaA large portion of the summer work is in studying construction drawings shared by research partners. The drawings are reviewed to complete material take-offs using CAD, PDF readers, and On-screen Take Off (a specialized take-off software developed by ConstructConnet). These take-offs become part of the construction material databases in development in the Saxe research group. The data is organized by the in-house ontology based on Master-Format and Uni-Format. This summer work also includes interpreting the data to investigate, for instance: 1) the drivers of material used in the buildings and 2) the relative intensity of material use between buildings. Other duties include attending and participating in group research meetings and supporting the writing of research manuscripts. -
