Syed Mohammad Arfatur Rahaman is a highly skilled qualitative researcher with a solid academic background in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Dhaka. With over five years of hands-on experience in project development, research coordination, and implementation, he has cultivated expertise across various sectors, including International Studies, Politics, gender-based violence, digital financial services, climate Change, SDGs, and in the RMG sector. Syed has played professional role in delivering impactful projects by drafting project proposals, coordinating field activities, conducting in-depth literature reviews, and presenting findings to key stakeholders. Currently, at the iDEA Foundation, he is actively engaged in projects funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he collaborates with esteemed researchers, focusing on qualitative quantitative data, collection, analysis, and reporting. During his tenure at the University of Dhaka’s, Anthropology Department, Syed led a project on the resilience of the Water-Energy-Food Nexus in Bangladesh in the face of climate change, working closely with 12 of the nation’s leading researchers. His work involved collecting and analyzing data from six distinct landscapes across the country, deepening his understanding of Bangladesh’s varied environmental and climatic conditions. Known for his expertise in conducting Key Informant Interviews (KII), Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and managing large-scale qualitative and quantitative data collection.Syed’s contributions extend to published articles in leading newspapers such as Prothom Alo and New Age, showcasing his ability to navigate complex global and developmental issues.
