CurrentClinical laboratory investigations in hematology, biochemistry, mycology, and routine miscellaneous tests. ~Clinical~Hematology (Beckman Coulter LH750)- Perform full blood count with white cell differentials. - Microscopic analysis of peripheral blood smears including identification of malarial parasites- Manual differential count and identification of abnormal morphology of red and white blood cells as well as platelets. - Erythrocyte sedimentation rate, manual and automated [Streck ESR Plus]- Blood and Urine porphyrias Biochemistry (Orthodiagnostic VITROS 250 and Roche Integra 400 plus)- Program tests for liver and renal function tests, lipid panel, and electrolytes. - Troubleshoot errors encountered by the analyser- Prepare and perform QC samples as well as Calibration of the analyser. Miscellaneous Tests- Urine: Urinalysis, beta-HCG, porphyrins (qualitative) - Skin: Skin scraping for fungus (mycelium/spores/M.Furfur/yeast), mites (scabies/dust mites) , and pathogenic bacteria (M. Leprea)- Staining: Gram, leishman, Giemsa, Ziehl-Neelson- Fluorescent microscopy - Rapid HIV, RPR (VDRL), TPPA~Non-clinical~- Specimen receiving and sorting - Accumulate and analysis of quality controls - Preparing reagents such as buffer solutions and acid dilution. - Accurately pipette solutions with precision- Take part in quality improvement work, improvement projects, and seminars- Conduct Continual Medical Education (CME) lectures on updates, interesting findings, and breakthroughs.- Conduct lectures and training for attached medical students, nursing students, and trainees from other institutions.
