An early experience working for a small tech company in Germany introduced me to the complexities of expanding a business to new and global markets. Since then, I’ve built extensive experience in both international and national business development, navigating a wide range of cultural and business environments in Europe, Asia, the U.S., the Middle East and Canada. I am adept at adjusting business strategies for different geographies, as well as multiple industries such as insurance, financial services and tech.When I joined Sonnet, this industry disruptor was new to the group insurance market, a market which needed to reinvent itself for the digital world. Backed by one of Canada’s oldest and strongest insurance companies, Definity Financial Corporation, Sonnet was ready to lead the charge with innovative solutions. What attracted me to Sonnet was the challenge of building a new business unit and expanding its footprint in the affinity/group insurance space. This is the focus of my role as Director of National Business Development. I love to help companies grow by identifying new business opportunities and developing relationships, as well as building strategies to help them increase revenue and market share. My past successes include reviving the struggling Asia operations for Teledyne Lumenera, which moved from a drop in business of 75% in 2011 to growth of over 250% in 2014-2015.
