After graduation I attending SF State and later graduating from Wayne State in Detroit I worked in promotion and production at famed Motown Records, working with such musical greats such as The Temptations, Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson and the likes. Later moving on to work for Holland, Dozier and Holland famed producers and song writers at their newly formed Hot Wax-Invictus label, only to eventually formed my own Independent Marketing and Promotion firm, Hits, Inc., with clients such as Atlantic Records, Warner-Electra Records, Sugar Hill Records, CBS Group labels as well as Motown to name a few. After a number of successful years I decided to enter the realm of retailing, forming my first retail record outlet, Hit House Records and Tapes in 1978 in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC and later another in the intercity of Washington, followed by other stores in the San Francisco Bay area. In 1987, at 43 I decided for some strange reason to attend law school at McGeorge in Sacramento, CA, obtaining my degree in 1991, I returned to the Washington, DC area, practicing law with HUD and later with the DC government’s Office of The Corporation Council. Attempting to retire in 2003, I return to my home state of Mississippi. After finding that retirement wasn’t for me, I started several businesses among which includes a web design and development company and a bail bond firm. Last year I opened a BBQ joint called Uncle Junior's Rib Crib. I currently at 71 years of age am very happily semi-retired, if that’s what it’s called.
