I was hooked, in Feb 07 I went for the position of Safety Rep and that Sept I registered in UL for two years of night classes in a Diploma course on Safety Health and Welfare. I enjoyed my time in collage and loved putting it into practice at work.I was in charge of keeping the ADR paper work up-to-date for the trucks (Four Articulated trucks), arranging drivers for the the days loads. Doing regular inspections on the vehicles and there equipment.

Delivering high security Loads between Shannon/Limerick and DublinI started with Cargo King after coming back from the USA. I meet many different people and was in different jobs delivering loads of computers to Dublin Port, shunting trailers on and off the bays for UPS in Dell, Limerick and delivering Air Cargo from Shannon Airport to Dublin Airport.

Working independently Collecting and Delivering in the 48 states of the USAComplying with all the rules and regulations in the different States. Sharing ideas and experiences,Attending quarterly safety meetings/discussion where drivers shared their experiencesI started in ATS after finishing a ten week course on driving, where I learned different skills. It was a great chance to drive in all 48 states of the USA and parts of Canada. At first I drove with another driver as a team. When I got first seat driver I quickly got the hunger to go up through the ranks, starting with flatbed trailers with legal loads, to wider and wider loads and then longer loads. I had to plan my routes across the different states, follow permits and organising the load on the trailer to displace the weight equally. I learned a lot by watching and helping other drivers then doing it myself.

Liffey is a furniture moving and storage company, where I was assistant warehouse manager. Here I would assist in the movement of furniture in and out of the warehouse as required. My job involved storing and locating storage units, meeting customers, maintaining the warehouse standards, locking up at the end of day when all vehicles had returned. At times I was required to pack containers for shipping overseas or load truck for delivery locally and interstate.
