I was responsible for a portfolio of clients operating in various industries with local and international transactions involving • Thorough examination of the financial statements• Preparation of the tax computation to come up with the taxable profit • Assessment of any potential exposures that could arise at the examination stage by the tax authorities, taking into account the Cyprus tax legislation, amendments of the legislation, circulars issued by the Cypriot tax authorities, common practice, and double tax treaties. • Communication with the client with regard to tax exposures identified and suggested corrective actions that could be taken/ applied so as to minimise the client’s tax liabilities and increase any tax benefits • Responsible for the preparation and completion of the annual tax returns (IR4s) for portfolio of clients, that involved the re-assessment of the tax computation and submission of the IR4s to the Cyprus tax authorities, both in hard copy and through TaxisNet• Assisted in the preparation, completion and review of the relevant self assessment forms of income tax and special defence contribution and submitted to the Cyprus tax authorities the relevant forms and payment within the given deadline • Involved in issuing bills to clients and collections
