• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for individualized and group instruction to meet the needs of each student as stated on I.E.P. • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional and safe learning environment in the classroom. • Assess the progress of students on a regular basis utilizing tests, measurements and observation skills and/or modify-adapted assessment devices• Conduct educational assessments and produce progress reports as related to special education.• Provide both direct and indirect instruction to students employing a variety of teaching styles and strategies to respond to the needs of diverse learners.• Lead teacher in the planning and development of student Individualized Education Program. • Organize and implement a continuum of appropriate service delivery options for students with disabilities.• Provide consultation and support to general education teachers regarding implementation of IEPs, teaching strategies, accommodations and reasonable modifications.• Communicate with parents through conferences, I.E.P meetings and other means to discuss pupil progress. Able to work effectively to engage parents / guardians by way of varied communication styles to support their child’s education experience.• Maintain accurate, complete and correct records, case files as required by program regulations, federal, state and local laws.• Supervise instructional assistant and partner education specialist. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form with professional colleagues. Attend and actively participate in staff/faculty meetings.
