Overview: Over the past 5 years, I’ve advanced BELONG’s mission by developing and leading impactful programs, communication strategies, and racial equity initiatives. Through my work, I’ve fostered meaningful adult-youth partnerships and guided our staff in our journey toward becoming an anti-racist democratic organization.- Program Leadership: Co-led Designing Our Own Learning (DOOL), a collaborative youth-adult program that empowers youth with leadership roles in school improvement projects and enables adults to practice power-sharing.- Racial Equity Leadership: Facilitated BELONG’s racial equity curriculum from the AORTA Institute, guiding the organization along the Continuum of Becoming an Anti-Racist Democratic Organization.- Facilitation Excellence: Led sessions that emphasize liberatory relationships, nurturing mutual respect and shared power between adults and youth.- Social Media Strategy: Developed and implemented a robust social media strategy, expanding BELONG’s reach and supporting its mission of fostering belonging and inclusivity.- Team Support: Consistently supported team operations and strategic communications, demonstrating dedication to BELONG’s values and goals.

Overview: Teaching environmental studies courses with a focus on environmental justice, innovative communication strategies, and co-learning practices. Guided students through immersive experiences that combined traditional ecological knowledge with modern environmental science.- Environmental Communications: Expanded the curriculum to explore modern digital tools and social platforms for effective environmental advocacy, encouraging students to serve as communicators for environmental and social justice.- Spring Block Leadership: Led the intensive, 18-credit Spring Block course, blending Western and Indigenous knowledge systems. Taught co-learning methodologies, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect, adaptability, and understanding of Indigenous territories and cultural contexts.- Logistical Expertise: Coordinated logistics for multiple remote camping trips with students, including food planning, fire-cooking, and backpacking essentials, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skills.- Student Empowerment: Inspired students to understand themselves as both learners and future leaders, preparing them for roles in environmental science and advocacy through hands-on experiences in community engagement.In my research, I specialize in a bringing together of ancient and indigenous ways of knowing with modern scientific discovery for a holistic take on the most effective actions for our next level of evolution as a species. Some of the topics and keywords of my courses include: brain science, mindset shift, new paradigms, cosmologies, network building, resilience, community development, communications, multicultural education, and human evolution.

Overview: Served as Co-Director of Washington’s statewide environmental education network, working across a vast landscape and diverse communities. Led initiatives that expanded E3’s reach, established an equity committee, and brought an inclusive, systems-oriented approach to environmental education.- Statewide Impact: Increased statewide network impact by connecting and mobilizing environmental educators across diverse backgrounds, from urban to rural communities.- Equity Leadership: Established E3 Washington's first Equity Committee, integrating equity and access into environmental education and ensuring inclusive opportunities for all WA residents.- Systems-Based Project Management: Organized and directed complex, large-scale projects such as the Environmental and Sustainability Literacy Plan for WA and supported the successful passing of Outdoor School for All legislation through grassroots advocacy and strategic coordination.- Community Building: Acted as a bridge between communities, fostering partnerships and connecting individuals to environmental education resources. Inspired future environmental leaders by promoting sustainable practices across educational initiatives.

Through participatory action research, I identified barriers to employment in the Green Field for people of color in Seattle. With input from the City of Seattle employees community, I also recommended systemic, cultural and individual goals for organizational change that would support workforce equity. Alongside a Mayor-appointed Interdepartmental Team for Workforce Equity, I made my recommendations available to city leadership. Essential skills gained: participatory action research (interviews and focus groups grounded in unwavering belief in community experience and expertise on their experience), leadership development, group facilitation, compassionate interviewing, creative problem solving, race and social justice vocabulary, visual communication

The MentorU Program exists to inspire and support high school students on their journey to personal, college and career success through one to one mentoring and a social-emotional health curriculum. As Curriculum Developer, I was responsible for creating and maintaining a culturally responsive social-emotional health and career and college readiness curriculum for 9th through 12th graders in the MentorU program. Students and their mentors would work through the curriculum together to prepare youth for positive, healthy, and successful lives in and after high school. As a pilot program, participant input was vital to the success of our design. Through regular feedback in various methods (formal, informal, written, verbal, surveys, conversations etc.), I consistently kept our program relevant and challenging, but satisfying for students and mentors.Essential skills gained: program design, development and implementation, classroom teaching, curriculum development, team management (supervising), active listening, complex problem solving, program evaluation and assessment

During my time at the YMCA, I designed, implemented, and managed a variety of after-school programs focused on art, environmental studies, and student mental health and wellness. I taught visual art, poetry, urban gardening, yoga, and wellness practices, creating an enriching environment where students could explore their creativity, connect with nature, and develop healthy emotional habits. In addition, I led program planning, coordinated resources, and collaborated with team members to ensure smooth execution and alignment with organizational goals. This experience sharpened my project management skills and fueled my passion for holistic education and community building.
