Ms. Barnes is a seasoned Public Company Independent Board Member with experience on seven NYSE, NASDAQ and TSX listed companies, and is CEO of Tanda Resources LLC, a privately held investment company. Her board expertise includes being Chair of Audit, Governance and Compensation Committees and managing environmental, social and governance (ESG), risk management, conflict committee and shareholder activism matters. She has over 30 years of experience in the energy business and a financial and engineering background. As a corporate executive with diverse leadership roles in capital-intensive companies in the energy value chain, she brings a broad strategic perspective to the complex challenges of operating and financing cyclical businesses in the global marketplace.Ms. Barnes has successfully executed a variety of mergers, acquisitions and divestiture transactions for energy clients, and advised on IPO's, public and private equity offerings and private debt and equity placements. She has a reputation for building strong relationships and communicating effectively with stakeholders to develop and achieve strategic goals. She began her career as a reservoir engineer for an affiliate of Exxon and was a licensed petroleum engineer. She received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering (Dean's List) from University of Manitoba, and an MBA from York University. On the not-for-profit front, Ms. Barnes serves as Chair of the Santa Maria Hostel Foundation, as a Member of the United Way Women's Initiative Steering Committee, and as a Mentor and member of the Advisory Committee at the Prison Entrepreneur Program. She previously served on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of the Harris County Houston Sports Authority.
