About Sylvia R Poll
Having worked for employers in the private sector and public service (local government and NHS), and having owned a franchise-style business, I have accumulated a wealth of experience and insight into what makes people tick.Roll the clock back to 2010... I felt completely "stuck", I had my job, a loving husband, a nice house, we planned on having children, but something was missing... I had always had a desire to run my own business, but I still had bills to pay!If I was to walk away from my job, where do I walk to? A promotion or new company means more of the same. You need something else. It took me a while to find it, and I had to think completely differently.I found a (now) 40+ year old company that believes that building people is what builds companies, and they gave me the chance to own a mini-franchise for under £200. No glass ceiling. No boss. No set hours. No commute. Loads of colleagues and tons of support to help and mentor you. I felt confident I had found my new path in life.I learned many lessons along the way, and I now apply this learning to help (mainly women - but I don't discriminate) professionals who feel stuck in a rut to explore alternatives, whether that is by creating an extra income stream to pay for the "extras", or creating a generous replacement income.I'm still happily married, and instead of children we have a dog! I now work mainly from home, but anywhere with internet connection is suitable.How far or fast you grow is up to you. Being completely fluent in English and Spanish, I am able to work with a wide range of people of diverse backgrounds.Are you prepared to work hard for a few years to create a better life for yourself and your loved ones?When the global pandemic struck, I was able to continue with my business, but I added to it... I started teaching Spanish via Zoom! For many years I have done this in an ad-hoc way, now it is a fledgling business, hoping to spread its wings and fly!
