I am the National Spokesperson for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) on Fair Trading matters (National media and responding to consultations), an Accredited Trainer for CTSI for the Fair Trading Award and the Diploma in Consumer Affairs and Trading Standards (DCATS), and was a National Examiner for DCATS. I have recently been awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.I am a national specialist on the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulation, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, providing training to Trading Standards Professionals and to business and consumer groups, and am passionate about ensuring that everyone is aware of their rights and obligations under the law.I am experienced in media work, both radio (including BBC Radio 4 Money Box Live) and TV (e.g Rip Off Britain, BBC Inside Out, BBC Breakfast, Supershoppers (Channel 4), Do the Right Thing (Channel 5)) and am also frequently quoted in the national press.I am also an experienced investigator, specialising in the field of Fair Trading law and dealing with rogue doorstep traders, and I have a proven track record with regard to complex investigations.
