Unconventional is my M.O. I am a born and raised in the D.R. Dominican who lives in Portland, Maine. To that you might say, "Why Maine, Sylvia?". Honestly, I had never seen a deer, or snow, or had a lobster roll (and, oh boy, have I had my fair share of lobster rolls and seen snow in the past 8 years!). That and being offered a scholarship to attend high school in Maine sealed the deal for me. The part of my brain that enjoys pulling electronics apart and putting them back together better than I found them led me to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Maine. Little did I know the other part of my brain, the one that thrives in creative environments and will artistically craft music videos in my head was plotting a change in majors to New Media with a minor in Innovation Engineering. Fast forward a couple of years later, and both parts of my brain, the creative and the strategically analytical part, found harmony in pursuing a Master of Science in Project Management.I love helping people accomplish their goals, whether that's learning how to get better at overcoming customer objections, creating tailored content to resonate with customers to increase brand awareness, or figuring out how to allocate scarce resources, it's always fun when adversity leads to growth. Especially if it involves a more sustainable, clean energy future for the world. Outside of work, some of my life accomplishments include hiking Mount Kilimanjaro, running a half marathon, 2018 USA Powerlifting Junior State Champion, becoming a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, and being featured in NOBULL's Pride campaign. I'm always looking for my next challenge!
