As a Gender Specialist with DT Global under the USAID Business Enabling Project (BEP), I contribute to advancing gender equality and social inclusion within the framework of business and economic development. My role involves providing strategic guidance and technical support to integrate gender considerations into project design, implementation, and monitoring. I lead gender assessments and analyses to identify opportunities for gender-responsive programming within business-enabling reforms and policies.Additionally, I support the capacity building of stakeholders, including government institutions, business associations, commercial chambers, and civil society organizations, on gender equality issues. I design and facilitate workshops and training sessions focused on promoting inclusive governance, economic empowerment, and leadership for women and marginalized groups.In my work, I develop gender-sensitive indicators and tools for monitoring and evaluating project impacts on gender equality and ensure that gender, diversity, and social inclusion principles are integrated into all aspects of project delivery. Through this, I aim to foster an enabling environment where gender equity is prioritized, allowing both women and men to equally contribute to and benefit from sustainable economic development.

In my role as Programme Officer at CUTS International, I spearheaded impactful programme portfolios spanning Climate Change, Consumer Welfare, Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Economic Justice, Governance, Trade, and Sustainable Development. Noteworthy achievements included a 20% enhancement in programme effectiveness and a 15% increase in stakeholder engagement.Proficient in research, data analysis, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, formulation, and development, I crafted policy briefs and advocacy toolkits to inform decision-making and actively participated in the national budget process, collaborating closely with CSOs, Grass Root Organizations, and Communities.I also played a pivotal role in producing scripts for awareness-raising content such as documentaries, animations, and television and radio programs.Beyond these accomplishments, I honed my skills in inclusive monitoring, evaluation, and learning, while excelling in proposal writing, grant management, and resource mobilisation, securing an additional $350,000 in funding. Skilled in people management, I optimised team performance and maintained a hands-on approach in project areas, resulting in a 15% increase in project completion rates and a 20% improvement in project impact, leading to the ownership and adoption of initiatives beyond project funding and implementation.With expertise in administrative tasks, procurement, and capacity building, I consistently delivered compelling content and presentations to diverse stakeholders, shaping opinions and fostering knowledge-building.My journey equipped me with the ability to dissect complex economic challenges, develop data-driven strategies, and foster meaningful collaborations. This role deeply resonated with my passion for socio-economic development and my steadfast commitment to driving positive and sustainable change within urban and rural communities across Zambia.

As an Enumerator and Gender Specialist Consultant at Q3 Strategy working on the Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) project titled "Going Beyond" in Zambia, my role involved conducting a gender analysis of Zambia to support the design of the project aimed at addressing digital inequality among young people in Cote d’Ivoire, Malawi, Tanzania, and Zambia. The project aims to empower underserved young people, particularly young women, with digital literacy and entrepreneurial skills to thrive in the digital economy. This necessitated thorough research to ensure a context-specific, gender-transformative approach.The methodology employed includes a desk-based literature review using the Johns Hopkins Gender Analysis framework and a comparative analysis of gender analysis frameworks to select the most suitable one for the project. The International Labour Organization Women’s Entrepreneurship Development Assessment Framework was chosen and adapted. This involved stakeholder mapping and primary data collection activities, including key informant interviews and focus group discussions, to gather expert perspectives and individual experiences.The findings reveal pervasive patriarchal norms hindering women's participation in education, business, leadership, and decision-making roles in Zambia. Cultural beliefs reinforce traditional gender roles, constraining women's agency across societal levels. Challenges include limited access to markets, social services, technology, poverty, infrastructure deficits, gendered inheritance laws, and disparities in access to gender-sensitive resources between rural and urban settings. Additionally, exploitation and harassment in online spaces deter women from engagement.This report highlights the need for tailored strategies within the "Going Beyond" Project to address these challenges and unlock opportunities for women and young entrepreneurs in Zambia.

As a Volunteer Ambassador at CoPRI, my role involved advocating for mental health awareness, supporting individuals with psychiatric conditions, educating about mental health, collecting data, managing social media and collaborating with a diverse team to promote mental health reintegration.

This role gave me an opportunity to lead a project that addresses body shaming among women, girls and the youth which was profoundly meaningful to me.This initiative sought to empower individuals by fostering body positivity and self-esteem, combating harmful stereotypes and promoting a culture of acceptance. By collaborating with women and young people, we aimed at creating a safe space for open dialogue, education, and support, ultimately contributing to healthier self-perceptions and improved mental well-being. In addition to the mentioned accomplishments, the project also focused on raising awareness on health, wellbeing, women, girls, and youth rights. The project aligned with my dedication to fostering inclusivity and making a positive impact on lives.
