Sylvia Maseko is a remarkable entrepreneur, seasoned event planner and designer, dietician by profession, accredited training provider and brand influencer. She is an expert in designing, planning and managing medical and corporate events of different sizes. She is a Chief Operations Officer at Medical Events and Managing Director at Daisy Lee Events. She is the Founder and CEO of African Health Excellence Awards, an NPO that aims to recognise and celebrate remarkable achievements and contributions of Healthcare Professionals and Organizations across the African continent and the global African diaspora. Sylvia Maseko was born and raised in Boschfontein which is one of the rural areas in Mpumalanga, South Africa. From a young age, she always knew that she was destined to be an entrepreneur. At age 23, she opened her first official business - a slimming clinic through her background as a Dietitian. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, a Masters in Business Administration and a certificate in Project Management. Sylvia started her career as a Registered Dietician working for the government where she gained a lot of experience when it comes to patient care. She then joined an NGO where she got exposed to the Management of HIV/AIDS through Nutrition. She later joined the corporate world where she managed the Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Gauteng and Eswatini territories.She is a member of South African Council for Business Women (SACBW), as well as Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT). Sylvia employs up to 50 young people, both permanent and temporal through her companies Medical Events, Daisy Lee Events, Health Excellence Organization and Medi-Dieticians.
