I love living and working in Northumberland and am passionate about helping businesses and communities succeed and grow through digital.I worked in the Civil Service for 30 years. During my career I had many roles including training development and delivery and Project Manager - I am a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner. I have worked in large offices in Longbenton but began my career in Blyth Local Office advising customers on benefits and National Insurance contributions. I left to be self-employed running a rural pub in Northumberland. As a result I am well aware of the challenges of living and working in a rural community!My strengths lie in:• A high standard of communication both written and oral with excellent attention to detail • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines whilst working under pressure • Hard working, flexible and with great organisational skills, I am committed to getting the job done• Excellent management skills able to work both as part of a team and lead a team effectively In my role leading the iNorthumberland Team I am involved in the implementation of the Project Gigabit programme Northumberland in conjunction with DSIT. Part of this role is liaising with fibre suppliers who are keen to work in Northumberland and providing advice and support to residents. This involves working closely with communities, local businesses, and their representatives, along with Parish Councils, County Councillors, village halls, residents and community organisations such as Community Action Northumberland.
