The Land Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for the support and growth of the Grassroots GardensLand Trust. This position has two primary functions. Firstly, under the supervision of the ProgramManager, the Coordinator will support the stewardship activities of the gardens preparing for or alreadyentered into the Grassroots Gardens Land Trust, including building gardeners’ skills, responding toprogram needs, supervising volunteers, and ensuring gardeners have the tools necessary for success.Secondly, the Coordinator works under the direction of the Executive Director in advocating for thepermanent protection and conservation of the community gardens in or entering the trust, includingcoordinating titles, appraisals, and environmental reviews on new trust properties and the development of land management plans.

Program Coordinator for the Parker Academy Afterschool Program at Buffalo Public School 64 Frederick Law Olmsted School. I take attendance, supervise snack dispersal, and prepare program supplies for the program.

To support increased community engagement in environmental stewardship and appropriate restoration work at many of our conservation properties. Objectives include increasing the number of people participating in environmental stewardship, native ecosystem restoration and invasive species removal, and volunteer and stewardship programs.

I pick up kitchen scraps from residential customers and bring it to the Farmer Pirates Compost site to be made into compost. I do social media outreach to customer base as well.

Maintenance of gardens within the Olmsted Parks System. Maintenance includes weeding, watering, fertilizing, planting and other gardening tasks as assigned. Zone focus includes round about gardens throughout the park system.

I compose lesson plans for STEM and Environmental Education in an After School setting. My lessons meet NGSS standards. I teach grade levels 1-6.

Provides direct supervision to staff and volunteers in the academic after school program at Buffalo Public Schools. Orders and distributes program supplies. Performs administrative tasks, maintains documentation, and provides reports as required for grant management. Assists with program planning and implements the program.

Develops a daily schedule of activities relating to the specialty program allowing for flexibility and progression. Provides supervisor with weekly program plans, materials list and objectives to be accomplished. Assists in camp training to demonstrate program activities in relation to camp themes. Ensures effective communication with staff and parents of campers. Develops and maintains positive, open communication between campers and camp staff. Responsible for the setup and breakdown of specialty area, and for the maintenance and control of supplies and equipment. Submits a complete report at the end of summer that consists of: inventory of equipment, program narrative, staff evaluation and future recommendations for improvement. Assists with the implementation of the overall camp program. Attends staff meetings, training sessions, overnights, and field trips as scheduled. Maintains the work rules and regulations as stated by YMCA Buffalo Niagara and the NYS Health Department. Implements ongoing safety checks to assure a healthy and safe camp environment. Implements emergency procedures when necessary. Completes additional duties as assigned.

Assist in the day to day activities at the Garden Center, helping build a social media presence for the company and teaching classes.

I worked primarily with the summer day camp and assisted with various environmental programs at Beaver Lake Nature Center.

Taught the save the rain program in the various Syracuse City School districts, did stream surveys at a Syracuse city park, and taught field trips at Baltimore Woods Nature Center.

A firm understanding of vegetable gardening concepts. Answering to and receiving approval to proceed with the garden from the Garden Advisory Committee. The purpose of the garden is to educate the general campus about organic vegetable gardening techniques. Currently I'm working on season extending techniques, what we plan on growing in the spring. As well as the possibility of involving the ceramics department in having students produce "ollas" to help irrigate the raised beds in the summer (pending approval from the ceramic professor who is currently on sabbatical). And thus embracing Permaculture techniques into our overall theme and message.

Entering preserved fungal specimen data into an online database as well as boxing specimens, photographing and bar coding.

As a gardener for Constable Hall I was involved in the restoration of the formal gardens adjacent to the Constable Hall. This position required that I be able to identify plants within the garden and to weed out around the permanent collection. I also had to do some research into the different plants that were originally in the garden and to aid in the transplanting of substitutes if the original variety could not be attained.
