Symone Bailey is currently a student at the University of North Texas studying biology. Symone graduated in the top 10 percent of the 2013 class from James Martin High along with many other achievements. Symone received multiple scholarships for her academic achievement. While a student at Martin, Symone was a member of several organization, including Key Club, where she developed her personal mission. Currently, Symone involved in mentoring, outreach, and servicing her community. Symone is very committed to helping her community. She is a member of the Black Student Union and Talon Teach, an organization involved in helping mold future educators, at her university. Symone is very passionate about outreach, using her talents to help uplift others, and building her community. Symone’s passion for helping others began after volunteering for several events at her church. She serves as youth mentor to the younger member of the congregation. After graduating with her Bachelors of Arts in Biology in December of 2017, Symone plans to gain her post-baccalaureate teacher’s certification to become a high school science teacher. She also plans to obtain her master’s degree in psychology in order to pursue a career as an educational psychologist. As an educational psychologist, Symone plans to focus on helping restructure the educational system so that the students are better serviced.
