Senior Controls EngineerCommscope Jul 1999 - Jan 2011As a controls engineer for Commscope I had a passion for designing, building, installing and commissioning highly automated intrumentation and control systems for Wireless Cable Manufacturing Group. The controls were totally integrated through Profibus and Ethernet, which included plcs, drives, temperature controllers, instrumentation, gauging and touchscreen HMIs. The quality of the products manufactured on these lines is superior in the Wireless Cable industry. I gained extensive hands-on experience designing, building, troubleshooting, problem solving and repairing these highly automated and totally integrated controls systems. These lines are now running in US, China, and India. I trained engineers, technicians and electricians in each of these locations to equip them with the know-how to troubleshoot and repair the controls systems. -

Controls EngineerGeneral Cable (Formerly Bicc Cables) Mar 1994 - Jun 1997In the early years of my employement with BICC Cables I was employeed as a technology transfer engineer stationed out of the Indianapolis Cable Technology Center. I was responsible for transferring cost improvement technology from plant to plant throughout US and Canada. Later on I was relocated to the utility cable plant in Marion Indiana (the old Anaconda Cable Plant) as a Controls Engineer to support cable manufacturing operations. I was responsible for upgrading the electrical control systems on many of the older cable manufacturing processes, which included plcs, drives, temperature control, instrumentation, gauging, and touchscreens. I gained extensive hands-on experience working with this equipment which grew my understand of cable manufacturing. I also trained technicians and electricians on the controls to learn how to troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns.

Electronic TechnicianSeradyn Oct 1992 - Mar 1994My employement with Seradyn was right after college. Seradyn manufactures labratory analytical intsruments for medical and paper pulp industry. I started out as an electronic technician in the repair department reparing customer instrument failures. I learned much about component level electronics and instrumentation. I learned how to diagnose, pinpoint and repair electronic component failures within complex circuitry. When I was caught up on repairs, I was allowed to work with engineers in research and development building, testing, and debugging breadboard circuits used in prototype instruments.
