I was part of a small group of consultants hired to develop the company's organisation and systems to meet the challenges of growth and regulatory compliance.I was responsible for ensuring that the operational components of the business were capable of supporting the changes being driven by the other areas of work. During this project I reviewed outsourcing arrangements and helped to put in place a long term solution to support the business through its planned growth. Consultant & Head Of Business AnalysisEuropean Technology Consultants (Etc) Aug 2000 - Sep 2001London, United KingdomI joined at a time of rapid growth for the company, diversifying into other channels, primarily web, digital television and mobile. I began working on Norwich Union’s project to create a wealth management business. My role in this was to specify a suite of web-based facilities which would allow customers to sign up for the service and self-maintain their account details. In the course of carrying out this work, it quickly became apparent that ETC’s business analysis capability was underdeveloped. Towards the close of the Norwich project I suggested to ETC’s management that I take charge of formalising the role of Business Analysts. Subsequent efforts to develop a methodology suited to ETC’s work and the recruitment of six business analysts led to me obtaining the position of Head of Business Analysis.
