• Program Assistant - Budgeted, planned and coordinated the ANTHUSIA summer school (worth € 40,000) in January 2019. ANTHUSIA is a multi-disciplinary EU-funded project in the Anthropology of Human Security in Africa. It is conducted by leading researchers in the universities of Oslo, Aarhus, Leuven and Edinburgh.• Program Assistant - Assisted with organizing and chairing the launch of PROCOL Kenya. PROCOL (Prosperity Co-Lab) is a programme run by the University College London’s Institute for Global Prosperity. It seeks to transform how policy decisions are made and the kinds of evidence the reasoning behind them. The goal is to create a sustainable global future at the policy, environmental and cultural sphere of human relations.• Assisted with planning and facilitating the launch of the Collaborative Research Center 228 Future Rural Africa Kick-off Research Methods Summer School. Future Rural Africa is an interdisciplinary collaborative research center funded by the German Research Council (DFG) involving geographers, anthropologists, political scientists, agro-economists, soil scientists and ecologists form the Universities of Bonn and Cologne as well as external partners to address large-scale land-use change and related socio-ecological transformations along growth corridors in Eastern and Southern Africa.• Developed, together with the Program Development Officer, a curriculum for Writing Bootcamps. These are intense, two-day workshops which equip both researchers and laymen with critical thinking, writing, data-analysis, research methods and publication skills. • Organized the 2019 BIEA Nairobi Annual Lecture by Professor Yash Pal Ghai – Kenya: Eight Years after a Colorful Constitutional Promulgation. • Wrote an 82-page trans-disciplinary and trans-theoretical report on the Temporal Frontiers and Excessivity of Time in Africa workshop. This workshop brought together scholars from across the sciences and humanities to engage with current debates around temporality and forge new trajectories of interdisciplinary research and discussion. With the tension between Einstein’s empiricist notion of relativity and Bergson’s experiential approach to duration as a backdrop, the workshop examined how human perceptions of transformation, continuity, disjuncture and stability both engender and challenge the temporalities we create to make sense of the universe we live in. It fostered lively conversations across regional and disciplinary boundaries to explore some of the fundamental, and perhaps irreconcilable, differences between conceptions and descriptions of time’s structure and function.
