Samuel Chang is a Computer Engineering Student at Simon Fraser University at Team Phantom - SFU Formula SAE Electric. He is proficient in Mandarin Chinese. Colleagues describe him as "Samuel is someone that I have known for many years, and I hope there are more opportunities for us to continue working and studying together for years to come. Samuel never shied away from discussion about different technologies related to programming. After any discussion I have had with him, whether it be about web development or data structures, Samuel would go out of his way to research and learn the topic on his own, and gaining a great understanding of each of the components in detail, regardless of its difficulty, and would attempt to implement it regardless of the result. In the rare occasions that he would struggle to implement something beyond his means, he would always practice the skills needed to gain a greater understanding of what he needs to know in order to create the implementation, and come back to complete it, as he never settles for half complete; he will master the skill until he understands it well enough to not only create it, but to be able to explain it to his peers as well. Samuel is genuinely an amazing person to not only study and learn new things with, as his level of skill, dedication, and detail are in abundance, but he also always maintains an amazing attitude towards his work, education, and peers. Samuel displays excellence in ways that never cease to amaze me. I directly managed Samuel at Katsu San as well, and he picked up the pieces of the job very quickly and always stayed positive in the workplace regardless of how difficult the job became. He contributed to creating a better workplace by refining systems to ensure workplace standards, and always ensured that the environment was clean and organized. Having Samuel on my team over Summer 2022 was an absolute pleasure."
