Run for America is a startup dedicated to fixing politics by recruiting, training, and running first-time candidates for public office. I joined it as co-founder and COO, leading the organization, team, and operations; creating a multi-year strategy for meeting distinct movement-building and election goals; and running the research, polling, and vetting processes to identify viable election opportunities in 2016.

Mayday PAC began as an historic $7 million crowd-funding campaign to "kick-start a Super PAC to end all Super PACs,” and it raised a total of $11 million in 2014. I directed all aspects of program, partnerships, and logistics for the initial raise, and then I worked side-by-side with founders Larry Lessig and Mark McKinnon to guide Mayday's successful transition from crowd-funded startup to electoral campaign. During the election cycle, I steered the $11 million campaign budget in eight congressional races, led a core team of eight staffers, and played the central organizing role in a constellation of relationships with political, media and digital consultants, lawyers, expert volunteers, and the board of directors.

Demand Progress was founded in 2010 by Aaron Swartz after an historic campaign against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). It later became a leading organization in the fights against online surveillance and for net neutrality, cultivating over 2 million members. I organized a merger between Demand Progress and Rootstrikers, becoming the fiscal sponsor for campaign finance reform projects and tackling the operational expansion of the newly enlarged organization.

Rootstrikers began as an online organizing experiment of Change Congress, a campaign finance reform group co-founded by Lawrence Lessig and Joe Trippi. I led an online-to-offline engagement strategy, organized two national conferences and creative partnerships with GOOD Magazine and Shepard Fairey, and I found the project a permanent home as a project of Demand Progress.
