Leading the brilliant HWU CanSat team to design and build a rocket-launched probe for the 2023 and 2024 international CanSat competitions (https://cansatcompetition.com).I wore many hats in this role, sharing responsibility for project management (such as budget oversight, outreach, and team organization/planning) with my co-lead, I also led the software and electronics sub-teams. Despite losing the probe to insufficient replacement parts in 2023 and to operator error during the rocket launch in the second, the team still topped the UK leaderboard both years thanks to the team producing outstanding design documentation. With all four deliverables graded as amongst the top 3 in the entire competition.

Working as the lead software engineer within the incredibly talented HWU CanSat team, to design and build a rocket launched probe for the 2022 international CanSat competition.Primarily working in embedded C++ and focusing on overseeing the design and implementation of the command, data, and sensor subsystems and the antenna design and selection. As well as occasionally working in Java, supervising the development of the ground control station and building interactive, 3D visualisation tools to aid in electronic/mechanical testing.

Working as part of a team to develop the Citadel Secure Programming Lab, an educational tool to introduce students to basic concepts of cyber-security. I was responsible for solidifying the link between the gameplay and lab aspects of the project by connecting game elements to relevant ideas in security.
