I made up my mind and decided to break a bit away from everyday's life and started a 4-month-long backpacking trip with my boyfriend in South-East Asia last December. Whilest traveling we always tried to make ourselves useful hence we were continuously looking for volunteering opportunities. The result:- teaching English to children in a Nepali primary school and in a Buddhist monastery- helping the staff with a variety of tasks in a Malaysian water resort- weeding the plants and helping the locals on a strawberry farm in Laos- helping a family to cut bamboo trees and palm leaves to be able to build bamboo-huts in a North-Vietnamese village
