Copenhagen Lupus and Vasculitis Clinic:Our Clinic is part of the Center for Rheumatology and Spine Diseases,at Rigshospitalet - Blegdamsvej in central Copenhagen and provides approximately 1.000 discharges and 10.000 outpatient visits annually. The department receives patients for highly specialized diagnostic evaluation and treatment of inflammatory, autoimmune rheumatic diseases.Our research is to contribute with significant and internationally recognized scientific findings that will help patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases to maintain quality of life and functionality. The Systemic Lupus Erythematosus International Collaborating Clinics (SLICC) is an international group of rheumatologists and immunologists with special interests in lupus who have been working together on lupus research since 1991. Since its inception, SLICC has evolved into a dynamic and expanding research group helping to promote lupus research and collaboration between scientific investigators. Over its history, SLICC has contributed to the development of multiple standardized outcome measures to better characterize lupus activity and damage as well as its response to varying treatments.Our mission statement is: Towards a better world for people with lupus through prevention and improved outcomes.

Dissecting disease mechanisms in three systemic inflammatory autoimmune diseases with an interferon signature, namely systemic lupus erythematosus, primary Sjögrens syndrome and idiopathic inflammatory myopathy.

The main driving hypothesis of the multidisciplinary PERSIMUNE Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen is that among patients with impaired immune function, there are common patterns of un-discovered risk factors, which explain the variation in infectious complications (i.e. the infectious phenotype). Initially, we aim to interrogate the mechanisms explaining the variation in risk using a diverse set of methodologies, including pattern recognition from big data and routine care, studies of host and microbial genetics, imaging, and immunological characterization. www.persimune.dk
