At the same time, we ensure that the signals are properly maintained along the +3.000 km Danish railway, where 1,2 million trains transport 196 million passengers and 8 million ton freight annually. Keeping the trains on track – 24 hours a day, all year around. The S-bane will be equipped with CBTC-technology (Communication Based Train Control), while the Fjernbane will be equipped with ERTMS (European Rail Traffic anagement System) according to the European standard system.

The Teknik Division is responsible for planning and execution of maintenance activities across the asset groups in the rail infrastructure.We ensure that the infrastructure is safe and sufficiently maintained in order to support a high performing train operation. Currently we are commissioning the new signalling programme where the first line has been handed over from project to operation. Furthermore we are preparing for taking new lines with electrification into operation.

The division Asset Management in Rail Net Denmark is responsible for the maintenance and renewal of the railway network on both the S-line and the main lines. The responsibility includes undertakings such as the daily technical and system management, the prioritisation process for both maintenance and renewal, and an optimisation of the performance in order to secure the contract between Rail Net Denmark and the Ministry of Transport. Furthermore Asset Management monitors the security level of the network and ensures the implementation of national and international rules and standards.The app. 200 employees in Asset Management are divided into the four management sections: • Tracks• Signalling• Electrical Systems • Forestry• Bridges & Constructions• IT In addition there are two assisting sections, Asset Documentation and Technical & Financial Optimisation.

Technical Planning is responsibel for the overall planning of both renewal and maintenance projects on the railway network. Furthermore Technical Planning is responsible for Banedanmarks Asset Management System, and the development of new technical solutions for the rail infrastructure.
