I love helping businesses grow. As a teenager, long before I knew what business development was, I would look at different business model and try to figure out how to make them better. It didn’t matter if it was a hot dog stand, the local grocery store, or a chain of restaurants, I found myself thinking of creative ways to make those businesses better. This interest in business lead me to Hampton University, in Hampton Virginia (which was called Hampton Institute when I attended) where I earned my B.S. degree in Business Management with an emphasis in marketing. After 40 years of business experience, I am still learning and growing. I have found over the years that genuine growth happens inwardly before it happens outwardly. My philosophy is that we can’t do for others what we don’t first do for ourselves. This holds true for people and business alike. To this end, I have developed a voracious appetite for learning and growing to sharpen the multifarious skills associated with business development. In this 4th industrial revolution, it doesn’t matter if its sales, communication, marketing, relational development, collaboration, capture management or leadership, continuous learning is required if your business is going to stay ahead of the technology curve. My greatest passion is in people development. For over 25 years, coupled with my business exposure, I have had the honor to be a pastor, teacher, life coach and mentor to many amazing men and women from all over the world. My greatest reward comes from helping people to live their best life. In an attempt to do the same for you, I am going to suggest a few books I have read recently that you might consider reading: “The Power of Habits”- by Charles Duhigg, “Rework” by Jason Fried and David Hansson, and “Principles” by Ray Dialo.
